Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS)

Hapeville Charter Schools is part of the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS). Participation in TRS is automatic and mandatory for most Hapeville Charter employees.

Employee Contributions

Because Hapeville Charter is mandated to participate in TRS we are able to opt out of Social Security, so employees do not pay into Social Security while working at Hapeville Charter.

The Employee Contribution is 6% of Gross Pay and is deducted on each paycheck. This is lower than the 6.2% social security employee contribution that employees would have paid.

Accessing Your TRS Account

To access your TRS account follow these instruction

First Time/Account Setup

  • You will first need your TRS ID Number. To get your number please email HR@hapevillecharter.org.

  • go to the TRS website using the link button above

  • Click on “my TRS Log In” at the top right

  • Click on “Register Here” under “Active Member Login”

  • Follow and answer all the prompts

Accessing Your TRS Account

  • If you have already setup your account

  • Go to the TRS website using the link button above

  • Click on “my TRS Log In” at the top right

  • Click on “Active Member Login”

  • Enter your username and password. Use the Forgot User Name and Password links if needed
